Graston Technique
Graston Technique® (GT) Therapy is an evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). The Graston technique induces inflammation to boost blood flow and promote healing in affected soft tissues. Using a cross-friction massage, which involves brushing or rubbing against the grain of the scar tissue, the practitioner re-introduces small amounts of trauma to the affected area. In some cases, this process temporarily causes inflammation in the area, which in turn increases the rate and amount of blood flow in and around the area. The theory is that this process helps initiate and promote the healing process of the affected soft tissues.
Conditions Graston call help with: Post-surgical scar tissue (once healed), Rotator cuff tendinitis, Knee pain, Tennis or golfer’s elbow, Fibromyalgia, Neck pain, Back pain, Plantar fasciitis, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Achilles tendinitis, Women’s health (C-section scarring or post-mastectomy), IT band issues, Hamstring injuries, Trigger finger, and more. Dr. Nick has treated all of these conditions with great success.
